WIP - SoCal Vibes

Although the lifeguard tower is featured prominently in most of the pieces in this series, it isn’t the hero. The hero is color; the lifeguard towers merely anchor the scene. Well, maybe not with the pink background.

Making custom floating frames

The inspiration for this series is rooted deeply in the essence of southern California beaches. Throughout my visits to Los Angeles over the past 20 years, I have always felt a magnetic pull towards the shores of Santa Monica and Venice Beach. The slow rolling surf, the rhythmic pulse of an occasional drum circle, and the breathtaking sunsets all converge to create a tranquil ambiance that I seek to embody in my work.

Utilizing limited color palettes, I strive to capture the serene feelings that arise from these experiences. Each piece is a reflection of the calmness that envelops me as I stand by the ocean, watching the waves lap gently at the shore. In this series, color becomes the driving force, transforming an ordinary scene into an extraordinary exploration of feeling and memory.
